Place the comic book on the board, then the board and the comic book in the bag. If the board is partially visible on the bottom, the corners and cover of the comic are significantly less likely to be harmed by sliding against the bag.
Your comic book should be sealed from within so that it does not slip out. There are two common methods for doing this: folding the flap inside, behind the board, or attaching tape to the back.
People who fold their comic books are anxious about reopening them and getting the tape stuck, which could ruin the state of the comic. Those who tape comic books are said to have completely fastened them in place. In either scenario, attempt to press out as much air as possible when you close the bag. This will keep it from worsening further.
Secure It Further!
What happens to your comic book once you've placed it in a bag and board? You'll need a warm, dry place with a somewhat low temperature that's regularly inside your home. Moisture, heat, and light are all enemies of your comic book, so choose wisely. The vast majority of people store their comic books in a comic book box, such as Comix Armor: Book Boxes.
